Create your first test

In echo, you set up a project for each service you test. If you already have the target service's project open, skip to "Create a test."

Open a project

To use the target service's repository, choose Open Repository… on the welcome screen. echo looks for echo-test/ in the repository. If there is no place for tests yet, you can create one by entering the target URL. If a screen appears asking you to choose a target in a monorepo, choose the app you want to test.

To try echo without a repository, choose + New Project and enter a project name and target URL. By default, it is created under "Documents/gnosis-echo/projects/".

Create a test

From + Create Test at the top of the screen, choose ⏺ Create by Recording or ✨ Create with AI.

  • Create by Recording — Operate the browser and record your actions and checks. For the steps, see Create tests by recording.
  • Create with AI — Describe what you want to check. When the AI proposes check items, select the ones to create and choose Start Creating N Items (N is the number of selected items). The AI may ask about anything unclear. For details, see Create and fix tests with AI.

Run

Choose ▶ Run All at the bottom of the screen to run all runnable tests. For how to check results, see Run tests and view results.
